The moment a woman conceives, a child’s and a mother’s health journey begins. It is the mother’s diet that determines the health of a baby, for it is not just the foundation for a healthy childhood and adulthood, but also a mother must stay healthy and well-nourished for their children’s healthy upbringing. So, early nutrition starts in the womb.
Understanding this, The Government of India has been carrying out a programme under the Integrated Child Development Scheme(ICDS), called the Anganwadi Feeding Programme to provide nutrition to pregnant and lactating mothers and children aged 0-6 years in India.
For any programme to have a real impact, collective effort is crucial. Akshaya Patra, as an implementing partner of the Government of India, tailors its initiatives to ensure nutritional support for all. We serve nutritious and hygienically cooked meals to toddlers and pregnant and lactating mothers in six Anganwadi centres.
With your support, we can reach even more who are in need.
Under PM POSHAN Abhiyaan, we also conduct a School Feeding Programme, which is our core initiative, serving nutritious mid-day meals to 2.25 million children every day, across 16 states and 3 UTs, aiming to meet their holistic nutritional needs.
Your support matters! With a donation of ₹1,900, you can serve wholesome meals for 300 days.
