Akshaya Patra and Agam Collaborate for 'Music for Meals' Charity Concert in Bengaluru

Bengaluru witnessed a powerful blend of melody and mission on 14 and 15 June as The Akshaya Patra Foundation and Indian Carnatic progressive rock band, Agam, came together for the Foundation’s ‘Music for Meals’ initiative to support the mid-day meal programme. Two shows were held in association with DivyaSree Developers—one at MLR Convention Centre, Whitefield, on 14 June, and the second at Prestige Centre for Performing Arts, Konanakunte, on 15 June. Both shows were full house, underscoring the enthusiastic support from the people of Bengaluru.
Music with a Mission

“Music for Meals” is more than an event; it is a movement. It marks a moment where music becomes a tool for change and community support becomes a lifeline for children across the nation. Every ticket sold directly funds nutritious meals for government school children reinforcing Akshaya Patra’s mission to support their health and education through community-driven efforts. “Music has the power to unite, uplift and inspire,” said Mr Shridhar Venkat, CEO of The Akshaya Patra Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to the people of Bengaluru and our partners for transforming melodies into meals and support into opportunity.”

A Musical Debut with Philanthropic Roots

AGAM unveiled their latest album, “Arrival of the Ethereal,” during the event. Known for their signature blend of Carnatic music and progressive rock, the band’s performance mirrors Akshaya Patra’s ethos — merging tradition with innovation.

Feeding the Future: 25 Years, 4 Billion Meals

Founded in 2000, The Akshaya Patra Foundation has served over 4 billion meals, making it the world’s largest social impact organisation serving mid-day meals in partnership with the Government of India. Now in its 25th year, the Foundation is recommitting itself to holistic child development — focusing on nutrition, education and equality.

Bengaluru Joins the Movement

As Agam took the stage, every note played echoed with purpose — turning the city’s love for music into a force that nourishes both body and soul.
