In India 43 per cent of children are malnourished and 1.5 million are at the brink of becoming victims of malnourishment .

On the other side 1.7 million children in India, are out-of-school.

Akshaya Patra strives to address issues related to malnutrition, hunger and deprivation of education by incentivising food to bring children to school.

Its aim is to nourish children ensuring they access education. Today Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) mid-day meal programme serving wholesome food to over 1.4 million children from 10,661 schools across 10 states in India.
